Dennis Salzbrunn didn’t plan to start an irrigation company; he grew into it. His journey began in 1981, when he worked a summer job at a landscaping company in Stamford, CT, called Designs by Lee. What started as a Summer landscaping job, quickly became a passion for landscapes, plants, and outdoor systems.

After high school, Dennis pursued an electrical technology degree at the New England Institute of Technology, then honed his skills as an electrical apprentice for several commercial contractors. But fate had a way of bringing him back to landscaping. A chance encounter with an old boss led Dennis to return as Irrigation Manager for Designs by Lee, where he spent eight years designing, installing, and maintaining complex irrigation systems.

In 1994, Dennis turned that experience into a company of his own: American Irrigation Systems. Over the years, he earned his Connecticut Master J-3 Irrigation License and additional J-1 certification for pumps, filters, and water treatment. He’s also certified by leading irrigation manufacturers, including Hunter, Toro, and Weathermatic. That combination of hands-on landscaping experience, electrical expertise, and technical certification allows Dennis to design systems that are efficient, reliable, and tailored to each property’s water supply.

Fully licensed, insured, and passionate about his work, Dennis leads a team dedicated to keeping lawns, gardens, and landscapes healthy year-round. His personal touch means every client gets more than a system; they get peace of mind, expert guidance, and a lawn that thrives effortlessly.
